HOUSTON, Texas, - Sonia Clayton, President and CEO of Virtual Intelligence Providers, LLC, participated as a distinguished guest in an important television forum to discuss issues pertaining to immigration. Sonia’s immigration story resonates in America and demonstrates that the American Dream can still be accomplished. Houston Public Media partnered with Univision Houston, to live stream the town hall via Facebook Live on Univision’s Facebook channels.
Sonia Clayton shared her personal story and discussed issues pertaining to immigration policies and her career path as a successful Colombo-Venezuelan immigrant and entrepreneur. Sonia, arrived in America in 1984 with only $50 and didn’t speak English. She pioneered Virtual Intelligence Providers, LLC (www.vip-global.com) an IT /O&G consulting firm from the ground with just a handful of people working by her side, and just two weeks after 9/11.

Law Enforcement Officials, Immigration lawyers and financial advisors worked together to speak about the issues that Houston is facing within. The entire community was invited to join on site or via e-conversation by asking questions on social media using the hashtag #YourVoiceIsPower or #TuVozEsPoder. The townhall was a part of Houston Public Media’s DiverseCity project which is a yearlong multi-media initiative considering what Houston’s diversity means for the city.
