Sonia Clayton, inducted to the Board of Directors of the Boy Scouts of America, Sam Houston Area Council
Sonia Clayton, President and CEO of VIRTUAL INTELLIGENCE PROVIDERS, LLC (VIP), has been elected to The Board of Directors of the Boy Scouts of America, Sam Houston Area Council, in Houston, Texas.
Sonia was inducted yesterday, December 8th, 2015 at the Annual Business Meeting at the Cockrell Scout Center located at 2225 North Loop West at East T.C. Jester in Houston, Texas. As a newly elected board member, she also acted as a voting member of the Council on business conducted during the annual meeting.
A Girl Scout herself and familiar with the leadership traits and values of the Boy Scout’s philosophy, Sonia brings a new dimension to the board. She has also worked closely with the Boy Scouts, as a mother supporting the program, while her son Aaron earned a total of 21 merit badges to obtain his Eagle Scout, in 2006.
Sonia has served in the administration and leadership boards of other similar groups such as the Civil Air Patrol, Delta Composite Squadron, various Cancer Organizational Boards and Educational Leadership boards tight to a good number of colleges and universities where Sonia acts as a board member. She is also the Chairman of the VIP Angels for Soldiers Foundation, The VIP Cancer Foundation and the VIP Education Foundation, all philanthropic causes endorsed and fully supported by Ms. Clayton.
This year the Sam Houston Council celebrated a milestone – 100 years of serving our community-, and Sonia was inducted as the First Latino Woman in the Houston Area Council. We wish her much success in her new endeavors.
