December 3rd, 2014
First and foremost, I would like congratulate you all, my cancer sisters, on your strength and courage while going through this season of your lives. There is nothing easy about Cancer, but fighting hard for our lives is doable and life, on the other side, becomes a daily blessing.
We are definitely marked women with few or several surgeries, with bodies hashed by chemo, burned by radiation, breasts missing, lost hair and nails and fatigued and diminished by the fight. Many with a lot of emotional pain, fighting alone or just simply feeling alone. Others even abandoned by their love ones. The battle is huge and wounds are real. But, just remember that you were giving this life, because you were strong enough to live it. Blessed are those who have great care givers and to them kudos for your dedication, love and support.
My dear friends, just remember that those battle scars represent your courage, your stamina, your faith and your own life. You must never feel ugly, or dreadful and never hide your scars. They’re just a part of you now and they are your “badges of honor.”
Stay strong! Courage does not always roar. Sometimes courage is that quiet voice at the end of the day saying, “I will try again tomorrow”. Let your faith be bigger than your fears, in order to continue to celebrate life while supporting one another.
Thank you for a great evening and for allowing VIP and my team the opportunity to serve you. God bless you!
Until we meet again.
