VIP at National Women’s Council Houston Conference
HOUSTON—Our CEO/President, Sonia Clayton, got behind the lectern again, this time on occasion of the Houston Women’s Conference, held at the Westin Oaks Hotel in the Galleria area. This gathering is organized annually by the prestigious National Women’s Council, or NWC, an organization dedicated to develop and empower women from all backgrounds and professional or vocational fields. It too serves as a space for women to network and build lasting relationships. The event was entitled “Transformational Leadership: from Vision to Impact”. Sonia co-presented and delivered in a number of thematic items such as Your Value Proposition, Servant Leadership, Entrepreneurship 101, and Lessons On Leadership. She shared the panel with, Kim Adams, AIG, Vice President of Marketing Communications; Gindi Eckel Vincent, Counsel at ExxonMobil and Author of Learning to Lead, also President of Women’s Energy Network; and Sue Retzlaff, Organizational Effectiveness Lead at Enbridge Energy.
“We salute the opportunity to come together in the spirit of learning, unity, common dreams and aspirations, to empower fellow women leaders in business, even to encourage younger ones to pursue a life-time passion and not just a career: entrepreneurship. As maligned, or despised in certain quarters, as the idea might be, the entrepreneurial woman is thriving--and trending ever more. One powerful reason is that leading and providing opportunities in our various communities is not just about brawn and braggadocio, but also about heart and common sense bound together with a good dose of reality and common sense,” says Sonia. We sure look forward to our next opportunity because for us to get together in a forum such as this, and share in our experiences, triumphs and occasional set-backs is, best of all about growing, and growing is what life is about.
