Sonia Clayton of Virtual Intelligence Providers, LLC at the LATINA Style Business Series
HOUSTON – Our President and CEO, Sonia Clayton, addressed yesterday’s Houston 2014 session of the LATINA Style Business Series. Sonia was selected along three other distinguished female entrepreneurs of Latin American origin operating in the Houston extended area. This year’s gathering had as a chosen venue the JW Marriott Hotel in the Galleria area, under the sponsorship of major corporate citizens: Southwest Airlines, Shell, Chevrolet, Nationwide Insurance, Comerica, Telemundo as well as important community outfits.
This initiative of the LATINA Style Magazine is described as “the most successful business development program in the nation for female entrepreneurs of Latin American origin”. As defined in its website, “the program’s emphasis is in creating a solid business foundation for the Latina entrepreneur. Corporate sponsors provide expert panelists to speak about a specific category of expertise. The program may cover a wide-range of topics including: access to capital; strategic sales & marketing strategies; professional, technology, and communications services; corporate & federal procurement opportunities. ”
Clayton’s intervention, in the seminar segment entitled Latina Entrepreneurs Spot Light: Lessons Learned, centered around, as is often her approach, the important role female entrepreneurs have to play both in their communities and in the context of their families and nation at large, the challenges faced by female leaders, and more importantly, on how to overcome them with faith, perseverance, hard, continued work, the forging of important partnerships, and the unique ingenuity and sense of opportunity female business leaders often come to embody.
