February Wave of Hope Minute Recipient Sonia Clayton

Mrs. Donna Franklin, KHJZ -FM 97.5- Morning Show Producer, selects and recognizes a nominee each month, spotlights their community contributions and encourages others to do the same while building a better community.

Sonia Clayton, President and CEO of VIP, received the award from Mrs. Donna Franklin for her contributions to the community. Sonia formed Virtual Intelligence Providers, LLC (VIP) in the wake of 9/11 assisting those during the economic downturn. As a result of the prosperity of VIP, three non-profit organizations were formed: The VIP Education Foundation, The Alba Navarro Fund and The Angels for Soldiers Foundation.

Sonia was recently recognized by Governor Rick Perry and received "The Leadership in Technology Award," she was selected as one of “Houston’s Top Women in Technology” and became the 2007 “Hispanic Entrepreneur of The Year.”
