Brigham Young University presents ‘Sonia Clayton: President and CEO of Virtual Intelligence Providers, LLC’

October 8, 2017: PROVO, UTAH -- Sonia Clayton, President and CEO of Virtual Intelligence Providers, has a different background than most Advisory Board members. A college graduate from Universidad del Zulia in Venezuela, she moved to the United States and received a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Capella University and eventually became a Harvard Certified Negotiator.

Sonia enjoys her work on the advisory board. She is a big believer in BYU’s purpose and views her service as part of accomplishing that purpose.

“I aid the BYU motto: ‘Enter to learn, Go forth to serve.’ I do this by ensuring this moto takes full effect in the lives of BYU students. As a member of the advisory board, I help shape the future careers of our students and provide input for professional education by sharing my industry knowledge, life experiences and visionary outcomes.”

Sonia takes her volunteer service as a member of the Advisory Board very seriously. She helps guide the direction of the Information Systems department.

“I make economic and philanthropic contributions to the Marriott School of Business,” says Sonia. “I help create an environment that promotes learning, teaching excellence and educational innovation. I engage with educational practitioners and students for the benefits of BYU future graduates. I learn about best practices from other School Boards and share this knowledge with ISAB.”

Sonia believes that diversity in the workplace can lead to better results and she strives to encourage diversity in the Information Systems program.

“I help recruit other board members, lead the ISAB diversity committee, provide individual coaching, housing and living arrangements for students participating in internships in Houston, Texas and I particularly encourage women and Hispanics in the pursuit of the Glory of God and Education.”

The Information Systems department is incredibly blessed to have Sonia Clayton as a member of the Advisory Board.
