TRAINING SPECIALIST:
A Training Specialist is a professional whose primary and most important responsibility is to help in the creation of instructional matter, or curricula, associated with the specific learning needs of an enterprise or business organization.  She/he will assist individually, or as a part of a team, in the creation or development of corporate instructional or educational matter intended to acquire relevant technical or non-technical knowledge, correct, prevent or even enhance performance and behaviors of the workforce. Key success factors include command and appropriate use of generally accepted processes, tools and standards for creating instructional matter, ensuring its quality/delivery, and helping or assisting, as required, in the design, validation of didactical approaches, use of applied technologies, and overall learning assimilation objectives expected from various corporative audiences.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, DELIVERABLES and/or RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Composes, re-designs and prepares technical user documentation and ancillary training materials
  2. Manages, or assist in doing so, web-based applications
  3. Gathers technical or instructional information
  4. Revises, re-composes, proofreads and edits end-user documentation using VIP’s, or other industry standards and methodologies
  5. Uses specialty software or tools such as Lectora, Webex, RoboHelp, InfoPak or similar, for development of training or educational materials  
  6. Executes the instructional design value proposition of an organization or client
  7. At request of project manager(s) or lead(s), produces and presents assigned project status reports and analysis, ensuring timeliness and quality of materials or outputs entrusted to her/his care.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES OR SIMILAR REQUIREMENTS:

Candidate must possess:

  1. Bachelor of Arts, or equivalent level of academic development plus verifiable experience, 3 + years, in Training/Curricular Design or related field
  2. Thorough understanding of current and future instructional design trends and technologies
  3. Proven ability to integrate and work within a culturally diverse team, handling multiple projects from multiple corporate customers
  4. Ability to compose and edit storyboards, interactive scripts, and other learning documentation
  5. Proven understanding of Captivate, Lectora or similar instructional design software
  6. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw relevant conclusions
  7. Ability to comply with “VIP’s or Client’s Code of Business Conducts and Ethics”
  8. Ability to observe “VIP’s or Client’s Standards of Conduct”
  9. Comply with VIP’s, or Client’s, Vision, Mission, Principles, Values, Goals and Standards

WORKING CONDITIONS and EXPECTATIONS:

  4. Normal physical setting for this job is that of a business office

SAP STAFF WRITER CONSULTANT:
A Staff Writer composes and prepares end-user documentation and training materials. A Staff Writer learns client's writing style and gains competency in client's project tools (e.g., status reports, time sheets, documentation tool).

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Serves as a member of an end-user documentation and training project team.
  • Composes, proofreads, and edits end-user documents and training materials.
  • Assists other team members in the preparation of end-user documents and training materials.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.
  • Develops an understanding of progress tracking methods.
  • Develops an awareness of systems associated with client's project work as well as general project documentation and training standards.
  • Develops the fundamentals required to master both consultancy work and the skills required to be an effective documentation and training developer.
  • Learns and develops ability to apply client's writing style and project tools.
  • Attends new hire orientation, recommended training courses and/or performs self-study with the use of training materials and equipment.
  • Pursues and takes advantage of learning opportunities.
  • Applies newly acquired knowledge and skills to assigned project tasks.
  • Develops a working knowledge of applicable computer software programs (.e.g., word processing and graphics packages).
  • Asks questions and seeks instruction from qualified Subject Matter Experts.
  • Performs appropriate software applications on project tasks.

  • Establishes positive, productive relationships with project team members and client contacts.
  • Demonstrates helpfulness, flexibility, and reliability in accepting work assignments.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably with a concentration in one of the following areas: Business Administration, Communications, Education, Liberal Arts, Computer Science, and/or Management Information Systems.
  • Knowledge of concepts of computer applications.
  • Knowledge and skills in basic writing competency, grammar and spelling.
  • Knowledge and skill in word-processing and the use of related software.
  • Ability to establish positive working relationships and credibility with client contacts and project team members.
  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
  • Minimum one (1) year of related experience.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Project work requires staff to be located at project sites (USA or Latin America). We strive for assimilation, which will improve our relationship and working experience with the client.
